Chapter 30 ~Sneak Peek 1The steeds cantered onwards at a leisurely pace. They were moving toward something that was glowing eerily in the horizon, something Sakura couldn't quite identify from their distance.

"What is that?" she wondered aloud curiously, squinting to see more clearly ahead. As the carriage ventured closer, the trodden ground beneath them blended into a new landscape, and her eyes widened at the sight that met them. What happened to Hughes? What was he working on? What did he discover? Was it about the military? Who did this? Who DID this??! The repetitive use of past tense only added to the undeniable truth gripping his heart. He needed answers. He needed information. He needed to know more. He needed to know who the bastard was. He needed--

The office doors opened and Havoc entered.

"Havoc! Where the hell--?" He stopped short in venting his frustration and incompetence to his subordinates when he saw her.

He was wrong.
He did not need anything.
He only needed her.

"Aside from the fact that we're all going to Central?" Falman innocuously inquired.

Havoc threw him a dirty look. "I meant about the colonel and the lieutenant."

"Yeah. I know what you mean," Breda agreed. "This morning they got here together. As if they've come from only one place."

"But that's impossible. Last night and until early this morning, it was raining. The colonel would never go outside in that torrent," Fuery reasoned.
